Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington is a Greek American author syndicated columnist and businesswoman. She's the co-founder and CEO of Thrive Global, as well as the author of 15 books. Arianna Huffington is an author and television host, as well as philanthropist and also the proprietor and publisher of The Huffington Post. Originally from Greece Arianna Huffington emigrated to England together with her family around 16 years old. At Cambridge University she earned a MA Degree in Economics. First foreign-born graduate to serve as president in the prestigious debate club The Cambridge Union, at 21 years old she took on the role. Being a conservative syndicated blog, after graduating she was able to be an influential voice for the Huffington Post. Her celebrity status helped her in getting several high-profile contributors to publish their thoughts about news from the world of politics and culture. Arianna became famous after she decided to run as an Independent Candidate in the California Recall Election in order to succeed former Governor Davis. Aside from that, Arianna also spearheaded an initiative in Detroit initiative that promoted fuel efficient vehicles. Forbes listed her as the top woman in media in the year 2009. Her ranking was at 12th place on their ranking. The Guardian also included her on the list of 100 most influential media in 2009. AOL bought The Huffington Post from AOL in 2011. In 2012, she became the head of AOL's media group. The group included several AOL owned properties like Engadget AOL Style List and Patch Media. Elli is the child of Konstantinos, a Journalism and management expert. While she enjoyed a strong relationship with both her father and mother but it was their connection that helped shape her. She was a leader throughout her childhood. In the year she turned 16years old, she emigrated from America to United Kingdom and enrolled Girton College Cambridge. While in college, she joined Cambridge Union's college debating societies and eventually was its first female and foreign president. She graduated in 1972 with a Master's Degree in Economics. After her graduation she worked as a columnist critic, and an anchor on TV. The appearance she made in Face the music with Bernard Levin was also notable. She began to write books, taking his help in editing.
