Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington has been an Greek American columnist, author and entrepreneur for more than twenty years. She was the founder of The Huffington Post and the director of Thrive Global. Author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington is a writer and philanthropist as well as a television host and owner of the independently liberal online news magazine The Huffington Post. When she moved into England from Greece at 16 She earned an MA with Economics from Cambridge University. The first graduate non-UK to serve as president of The Cambridge Union at the age 21. She became a syndicated conservative writer following graduation and, with The Huffington Post launched a year later, she developed an online platform to voice opinions which offered critiques of the political landscape. In part, her fame led to the recruitment of a variety of renowned contributors. Arianna became famous when she ran in the California recall election replacing then Governor Davis. Additionally, she led the Detroit Project for fuel-efficient cars. Forbes placed her at 12 on their list of the Top Influential Media Women. Guardian also included the Huffington Post on their Top 100 list in 2010. AOL, Inc. made her the President of their media company in 2011, after they purchased The Huffington Post. The Huffington Post was joined by additional AOL brands, including Engadget AOLmusic Style list and Patch Media. She was born to a journalist and manager Konstantinos as well as his spouse Elli Stasinopoulos. The way she lived her life was determined by her closeness to her mother and her bond with her dad, despite her being very close to her father. From her early years, she demonstrated leadership skills that remain highly respected. When she was 16 years old the girl moved into the United Kingdom for her higher education. In 1972, her master's in Economics was awarded. After after graduation she worked as an editor of the critic's column and a television host.
