Taylor Swift is that rarest of pop phenomena: a superstar who managed to fully transition from the traditional to making her an iconic celebrity and then conquering all over the world at the same time. Swift let go of the influences from her country music in the sense that they had been added as an extra layer of skin and revealed she was one of the most talented singers/songwriters in her time. Swift could make the event personal and use it for her benefit. It was apparent in her earliest songs especially in her neo homage to Tim McGraw. On her second release Fearless (2008) Swift revealed a singer/songwriter who was beginning to know her. Fearless was successful not only in America, but also with six platinum-certified songs. In fact, the Top Ten songs Love Story & You Belong with Me were the primary reasons behind this. It also performed very well across the globe. Swift took off to the peak of stardom with Speak Now. Her popularity only increased with her following three albums -- Red (2012) 1989 (2014) as well as Reputation (2017) -- which saw her move into the realm of pop in which she was already a part. Even though she had slowed the production of her folklore album, and Evermore released in 2020, she was leading the way in pop music.
